"Thank you, FELIX for helping my son complete his grade 8 with distinction no less! We are very proud of you both and have you to thank for his enthusiasm for music. This will be a big help towards the UCAS application..."

Guitar Lessons for Everybody
It doesn't matter who you are...
From nervous first-timers to seasoned performers, there is room for all.
Every student has different needs - whether that means focusing on technique or jamming to your favourite songs - lessons are designed to be rewarding, challenging and fun.
Why should I take guitar lessons?
If you've never seriously learnt an instrument before, you're missing out! Apart from all the great health benefits studies have shown learning a musical instrument can provide, for me one of the best things about teaching is looking back with my students at what they had been working on say 6 months ago. I think that's a pretty special moment for everybody.
Of course, there are many instruments you can choose from but for me the guitar has always appealed to me the most. Guitars are affordable, easily accessible and not before long you'll be able to play along to real songs, play with friends and even join a band!
Can't I just teach myself?
Don't be fooled by the latest 'Become a rockstar in a day' app! Sure, there are many excellent tuition books and online resources available (many of which I recommend!) but far too often I have had students come to me having taught themselves something highly ambitious and unfortunately falling short of the mark. I admire every student that goes the extra mile but every good guitar teacher will be able to pinpoint your true strengths and weaknesses immediately and steer you in the correct direction.
Teaching rates are advised and fairly priced by the Musician's Union themselves. They are also substantially cheaper than that of the local music services.
Bedfordshire-based Felix Askew-Conti has over 10 years of professional teaching experience as a peripatetic guitar & bass teacher working with a wide range of ages, abilities and requirements.
Studying at The University of Surrey, Felix read Music BMus amongst renowned guitarists such as Stephen Goss, Milton Mermikides, Jake Wilson & Paul Thomas. Specialising in performance, Felix trained in both classical & electric guitar styles and went on to graduate in 2014.
Influenced by such a variety of music from hard rock styles, jazz, percussive acoustic to golden era classical guitar, Felix has been able to turn his hand to performing in an array of on-stage roles from traditional concert settings associated with the RAM to large corporate events at the NEC; rough and ready pub gigs to pit band work.
Felix is a registered Rockschool and RGT teacher capable of guiding students through appropriate exam board for electric, acoustic & classical guitar and bass guitar. He is a member of the Musician's Union compliant of their safeguarding measures including a valid advanced DBS certificate and public liability.
How do guitar lessons work?
If your child attends a school in the Central Bedfordshire area, please check in advance that I am already offering guitar lessons at their school. Every school has their own policy on music lessons which may affect the choice of lessons that I offer.
Guitar lessons are offered each week (for 11x weeks) per term on a repeated basis. Students are responsible fo bringing their own instruments, music and books.
All new students are invited to see what a guitar lesson is like before enrolling and can have a taster of what it is all about.
To sign up, please press the 'enrol now' button below and follow the instructions.
For 2019/20, one-to-one guitar lessons are offered privately at Grove Road Studios () in Leighton Buzzard at £17.50/30-minute lesson. (Other lesson types are available on request.) You must commit to returning at the same time on a weekly basis although this can be changed at any time if there are other times available. If this is an issue, please get in touch and an arrangement may be made.
All students are expected to bring their own instrument.
